Daniel Mitz is Jones Day's global head of Tech M&A. He represents companies in domestic and cross-border M&A transactions. He has extensive experience advising clients on corporate governance and fiduciary duty matters.

Recent representative public company transactions include SAP's acquisitions of Concur ($8.3 billion), Sybase ($5.8 billion), Ariba ($4.3 billion), and SuccessFactors ($3.4 billion); Linear Technology's sale to Analog Devices ($14.8 billion); Itron's acquisition of Silver Spring Networks ($830 million); Canyon Bridge Capital Partners' acquisition of Lattice Semiconductor ($1.3 billion); Lam Research's acquisitions of KLA-Tencor ($10.6 billion) and Novellus ($3.3 billion); Atmel's proposed sale to Dialog Semiconductor ($4.6 billion) and subsequent sale to Microchip Technology ($3.6 billion); Intersil's sale to Renesas ($3.2 billion); and Randstad's acquisition of Monster ($429 million).

Representative private company transactions include SAP's acquisitions of Gigya, Hipmunk, and hybris AG; BlackBerry's acquisition of Good Technology ($425 million); Itron's acquisition of Comverge ($100 million); GE's acquisition of IQP; ABB's sale of the Meyer Steel Structures business ($600 million) and Thomas & Betts HVAC business ($260 million); VMware's acquisitions of Arkin, Cloudvolumes, and Virsto Software; Hitachi Data Systems' acquisition of Pentaho Corporation; Macy's acquisition of Bluemercury ($210 million); Education Testing Service's acquisition of Questar ($127.5 million) and EduSoft; and Check's sale to Intuit ($350 million).

Prior to joining Jones Day, Daniel was vice president of business affairs on Sun Microsystems' business development team in charge of structuring, negotiating, and executing Sun's acquisitions and equity investments. During his tenure, the company completed over $2.5 billion in acquisitions. Prior to joining Sun, Daniel was a partner at a Silicon Valley-based firm.
