David Strandness is a litigator whose practice focuses on appellate advocacy and complex litigation. His practice has spanned a wide range of subject areas, including constitutional law, ERISA, administrative law, election law, section 1983 claims, criminal law, bankruptcy, government affairs, products liability, and general commercial litigation. He has written and participated in the drafting of briefs filed with the United States Supreme Court and various federal and state courts throughout the country.

David is also active in pro bono matters and judges moot courts for the Georgetown Law Supreme Court Institute.

David joined Jones Day following a clerkship on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Before law school, David served as a legislative assistant to Representative Jim Ramstad (MN-3).
