Diana Leguizamón-Morales focuses on biotechnology, plant sciences, and pharmaceuticals. She is a biologist with several postgraduate studies in intellectual property law, particularly in the area of patents.

Diana has considerable work experience with patent prosecution, including responses to office actions in patents involving pharmaceuticals and biotechnology (such as antibiotics, peptide immune modulators, RNAi, tissue engineering, recombinant virus, oncogene, stem cell technology, and plant biotechnology) and a variety of therapies (such as antiviral, anticancer, stem cell, and immunotherapies). Diana also has been an active contributor to high-profile patent opposition and appeal proceedings in technology matters dealing with plant sciences, biotechnology, and cancer therapies.

Diana is currently completing her doctoral thesis in legal protection of plant varieties and plant-related inventions at the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Dres. h.c. Joseph Straus.
