David Belczyk is a mechanical engineer and former prosecutor who has tried numerous cases to verdict in state and federal courts and has argued before the federal appellate courts. His practice involves litigation matters reflective of his technical background, including representation of a major utility alleging defective design and installation of generator windings; litigation over the efficiency and contractual performance of a decade-long dismantlement of a steelmaking facility; defense of a nationwide roofing manufacturer and installer against class action allegations regarding product performance and pricing; litigation concerning intellectual property, contract performance, and tortious interference in the polymer packaging industry; representation of a large-scale developer alleging construction defects across multiple projects in two states; pursuit of CERCLA contribution at a transformer rehabilitation site; and defense of product defect allegations regarding ATVs and bolts used to stabilize mines.

David also has defended: False Claims Act allegations in the health care and education industries; the grand jury investigation of an institutional client; noncompete allegations; other class action allegations; and consumer credit litigation under the FCRA. His practice has involved the development and presentation of crucial expert testimony related to structural, electrical, and mechanical engineering, metallurgy, project management, the credit industry, and forensic accounting.

David is a member of the board of directors of Pittsburgh Opera. He has been an adjunct professor of appellate practice and procedure at Duquesne Law for more than four years. He devotes pro bono efforts to veterans, asylum claimants, and the protection of civil rights.
