Chief Justice Roberts names Traci Lovitt to the Advisory Committee on Evidence Rules

The global law firm Jones Day announced that Traci L. Lovitt, Partner-in-Charge of the Firm's Boston Office, has been appointed by the Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court to the Judicial Conference Advisory Committee on Evidence Rules for a three-year term beginning October 1, 2016. The Judicial Conference is the principal policymaking body of the U.S. Courts, and its Advisory Committee on Evidence Rules helps evaluate proposed amendments to the rules of evidence. The U.S. Supreme Court makes the ultimate decision on rules changes.

A Partner in Jones Day's Issues & Appeals Practice, Ms. Lovitt is accomplished in analyzing, briefing, and arguing complex legal questions across a wide range of subject matters. She has argued before the U.S. Supreme Court, as well as numerous federal appellate and state courts, and has authored briefs raising significant issues for every level of the federal and state judiciaries. She currently serves on the board of Greater Boston Legal Services and the New England Legal Foundation. She has served as an Assistant to the Solicitor General, U.S. Department of Justice, and as a Law Clerk to Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, U.S. Supreme Court, and Judge Ralph K. Winter, U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit.
