Tony Perricone counsels clients on all aspects of the investment management sector from initial fund formation, organizational structuring, and regulatory compliance, through complex restructurings and transactional representation. He has advised prominent hedge funds, including traditional long/short equity, technology, health care, and arbitrage funds, on a range of issues in the alternative asset management area.

In addition to his sponsor representation, Tony advises major investors looking to seed new managers and/or make significant investments in more established funds. These include some of the largest and most well-known public and private pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and high net worth individuals. Tony has advised numerous clients in making large investments in alternative asset classes — not only with respect to reviewing organizational documents of the particular investment fund vehicle, but also in negotiating side letter agreements, co-investment agreements, and minority ownership and equity participations in sponsor/manager entities.

Tony also has significant experience advising real estate funds on formation and transactional matters. He has represented funds investing in various asset classes, funds making whole loans to investors and developers, funds trading in mortgage-backed securities, and funds acquiring properties throughout the United States and Europe using Shari'ah-compliant (Ijara) financing structures.

Tony is a former CPA and M&A consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York and with the International Maritime Group in Geneva, Switzerland. He has taught several courses in M&A and financial management at New York University and Pace University.
