Alfred Cheng’s practice focuses on outsourcing, technology, and intellectual property-related transactions.  He advises clients on information technology outsourcing, business process outsourcing, technology licensing, software as a service (SaaS) arrangements, technology development and services, strategic alliances, data privacy, and electronic commerce.  He also counsels clients on intellectual property issues that arise in the context of general corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions.

Clients that Alfred has represented include Bunge Limited, Linedata Services, Nokia Corporation, Nokia Siemens Networks, Parallel Investment Partners, and Patriarch Partners.  Prior to joining Jones Day, Alfred was a software application developer with an information technology consulting firm.  

Alfred is a member of the Dallas Regional Chamber Technology Business Council, the United Way Young Leaders Society, and the Dallas Asian American Bar Association.  He also has co-chaired the Lawyers Against Domestic Violence Committee of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers.
