Philippe Billot has dedicated his career to the banking, capital markets, and real estate areas of law.

Philippe has extensive experience in international bank finance, with particular emphasis on structured finance, syndicated loans, banking regulations, restructurings, and workouts. He regularly advises international financial institutions such as Morgan Stanley and the Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds, GE Capital, and GMAC, as well as French clients such as Société Générale and HSBC, in structured finance and financing transactions of all sorts, including real estate.

He has extensive experience in French capital markets transactions (debt and equity products) and also public company M&A, particularly public to private deals.

From 1985 to 1991, Philippe was at the Crédit Commercial de France (now HSBC), where he served as the head of international business affairs in the legal department and then as general counsel. He was an associate professor at the University of Paris-Dauphine from 1991 to 1993. He has written numerous articles for legal and financial publications and is a frequent lecturer at banking and financial seminars.

Philippe is cited yearly as one of the leading banking, finance, real estate, and capital markets lawyers in France in numerous international guides and French magazines, such as The Legal 500 EMEA and Décideurs Stratégie Finance et Droit.

He is a member of the legal committee of MEDEF (Mouvement des Entreprises de France). He is trained as a civil law notary and as an attorney.
